What a wonderful way to relax!
I love using large granite slabs and rocks as canvases for dotilism. I use Mexican beach rocks because of the smooth surface they provide. I hand select each stone and granite slab, then start by painting them black so the colors will pop. Each is so uniquely different which makes turning them into pieces of art very satisfying.
